Intersolar Europe 2012 Intersolar Europe 2012 – The Entire Solar Industry Value Chain Dear Sir or Madam, Today, more than 20% of German power is supplied from renewable energy sources. Photovoltaic systems (PV systems) generate a large proportion of this power, and their share of the market continues to grow. Solar thermal technologies are also gaining ground, both in Germany and across the globe. While the prices of fossil fuels, such as fuel oil, are currently peaking at their highest ever levels, solar power and solar thermal technologies are becoming increasingly cost effective. Falling prices have forged new paths for photovoltaics, as the lower costs allow ever larger installations to be built. Eighteen percent of the world’s commercial PV power plants already have outputs in the range between 20 and 100 megawatts. Moreover, PV power plants are quick to construct and can be scaled to any size. It is not only falling costs, however, that are driving the international upsurge in solar technology. New solar cooling technology has unlocked additional potential for solar thermal technologies, particularly in the world’s sunshine states: Wherever the sun shines most brightly and energy needs increase as a result, that is where the best conditions exist for achieving the maximum possible performance from solar installations. You can learn all you need to know about the hottest solar technology, its applications and international growth markets at Intersolar Europe, the world's largest exhibition for the solar industry, from June 13–15, 2012. The PV ENERGY WORLD special exhibit provides comprehensive information on future power grids and the most recent storage technologies. In addition, the special exhibit PV and E-Mobility showcases systems technology for the mobility of tomorrow: From electric vehicles to PV carports and mobile electricity storage systems, no question is left unanswered – and these are just two of many topics that look toward the future of photovoltaics, PV production technologies and solar thermal technologies. All this is presented to you by 2,200 exhibitors in an exhibition space spanning 170,000 sqm. The Intersolar Europe Conference takes place in parallel to Intersolar Europe from June 11–14, 2012, taking up the thread of the exhibition topics and consolidating them. A total of 400 speakers and about 2,500 attendees are expected to take part in the conference and its Side Events, which offer the chance to discover all the necessary information about solar air conditioning, PV power plants, storage technology, grid integration, PV production technologies, and much more. The events offer essential, up-to-date information on the latest technologies and the future of international markets, and provide the opportunity to meet the players from industry, research and politics that are driving the development of the global solar industry. Come and be a part of it! We would be delighted to see you there! Intersolar Europe 2012
